Mechele "Meme" Mihalovic - Professional Speaker & Advocate

I am Mechele "Meme" Mihalovic, a Certified Professional Speaker in Onalaska, Wisconsin, and the parent of a young man on the Autism Spectrum. My speaking and consulting grew out of nights at the kitchen table, reading IEPs and policy letters, while watching my son take apart and rebuild anything mechanical he could find. His curiosity and courage kept reminding me that autism is not a tragedy, it is a different way of moving through the world.

Over time, I moved between school meetings, board rooms, and community groups, translating what I was living at home into practical steps others could use. Today I bring that same lived insight, combined with formal training in servant leadership, to every conference stage, workshop, and consultation.

If you are ready for honest stories and concrete strategies, I would be honored to work with you.

Why I Speak

My son's diagnosis at seven came with a swirl of reports, labels, and low expectations. What it did not come with was a clear path to inclusion. I spent years sitting across tables from educators, employers, and service providers, learning how systems worked and where they quietly shut people out. Each time I watched him be underestimated, I felt a nudge to use my voice differently.

That nudge eventually became Mihalovic Consulting. My Master of Arts in Servant Leadership and my board service with disability organizations gave me tools to turn advocacy into structured learning experiences. Conference keynotes, staff trainings, and community workshops became places where I could say, "This is what helped my son, here is how it can help your students, employees, or members too."

I speak so that families feel less alone and organizations feel more equipped to act.

Listening

I listen deeply to your specific institutional needs before building your custom presentation.

Openness

I welcome every personal journey with deep empathy, balancing daily realities with steady hope.

Guidance

I translate extensive professional training into practical, actionable tools for your group.

Mobility

I travel across the nation to deliver impactful, flexible, and accessible training on-site.

My Journey as a Autism Mom

Mihalovic Consulting in Onalaska, Wisconsin, is my professional speaking and facilitation practice, specializing in autism and neurodivergence.

My work began in the quiet moments of struggle and hope while raising my son, who was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum at seven.

Fighting for his education and place in the community shaped how I speak, teach, and walk beside families, educators, and employers today.

Blending Credentials With Lived Reality

My story as a parent is only part of the picture. I also hold a Master of Arts in Servant Leadership and I am a Certified Professional Speaker, with additional certification from Mic Drop Academy

I have served on boards such as Family Ties, Disability Action Network, and Coulee Region Autism Society, and received a Leadership Award from the local ARC

These roles taught me how to turn hard-won lessons into practical guidance that creates real change.

From Story to Practice

Every keynote, workshop, and consulting project I offer grows out of both research and kitchen table experience. I have walked IEP halls, sat in hiring meetings, and watched small accommodations open doors for my son and many others.

My focus is always on simple, realistic shifts in language, environment, and expectations that help neurodivergent people shine, while giving schools, families, and workplaces clear next steps they can start using immediately.
